اَللّٰھُمَّ بَارِکْ لَنَا فِیْهِ وَ زِدْنَا مِنْهُ

Pronounce: “Bismillahi ar-Rahmani ar-Rahim”

“Allahumma barik lana feehi wa zidna minhu” [Abu Dawud: No 3730; At-Tirmidhi: No 3455; Ibn Majah: No 3322.]

Translation: “O Allah, bless it for us and give us more of it.”

In Surah An-Nahl 16, Ayat: 66, Allah says,

وَإِنَّ لَكُمْ فِى ٱلْأَنْعَـٰمِ لَعِبْرَةًۭ ۖ نُّسْقِيكُم مِّمَّا فِى بُطُونِهِۦ مِنۢ بَيْنِ فَرْثٍۢ وَدَمٍۢ لَّبَنًا خَالِصًۭا سَآئِغًۭا لِّلشَّـٰرِبِينَ

Translation: “And there is certainly a lesson for you in cattle: We give you to drink of what is in their bellies, from between digested food and blood: pure milk, pleasant to drink.”

This verse emphasizes the purity and nourishment found in milk. Also, our Prophet ﷺ chose milk in his Miraj. He said,

“…Then I was given three bowls:

1. one containing milk,

2. another containing honey, and

3. a third containing wine.

I took the bowl containing milk and drank it. It was said to me, “You and your followers will be on the right path (of Islam).”” [Sahih al-Bukhari 5610]
